MAGZ YANG
Magz Yang grew up in a world where art was often considered trivial and a waste of time. Her elementary school teachers predicted that she would one day be famous for her art, but it would be many years before she could fully focus on it.
After college, Magz worked her way up the corporate ladder at Adidas, eventually landing a position with Beyoncé’s Ivy Park brand.
While on a trip to Paris, she was inspired by the Sainte-Chapelle, and returned home with her childhood passion reignited. In less than a week, she created the stunning piece Stained Hope, drawing on her experiences as a young child and the hope she felt when looking up at the possibilities that, at times, seemed out of reach.
Encouraged by everyone who saw this incredible work, Magz made the bold decision to resign from Adidas and pursue her artistic dreams full-time.
Now, she focuses on creating modern, contemporary works inspired by pop culture and societal issues. Drawing deeply from her experiences with identity, belonging, memory, and the immigrant journey, her art explores both personal and cultural histories.
Magz’s work goes beyond raising social and personal awareness; it’s about finding peace and solitude amidst life’s challenges. Through vivid colors and compelling visuals, she transforms trauma and lived experiences into beautiful, thought-provoking art.
